Congratulations! This season is such an exciting one, & I’m so glad we get to capture it together. An engagement session is a great way for us to connect, get comfortable working together, & ease into what it feels like to be in front of the camera before your wedding day.
This guide will help you feel prepared & relaxed so you can simply enjoy the experience. I’ll guide you throughout the session, keeping things natural, fun, & effortless while we capture photos that truly feel like you.
60 minute session
up to 3 outfits
1-2 locations
50+ photos in an online gallery
4 week turnaround
1. Get your nails done.
You will be looking at your hands in all of your photos so make sure they feel polished and like you.
2. Bring two+ outfit options.
One casual and comfortable that feels like everyday you, and one more dressed up so you have variety in your final gallery.
3. Coordinate instead of match.
Your outfits should feel cohesive together but also completely authentic to who you both are.
4. Communicate your vision.
If you have ideas, a specific location in mind, or anything you want to make sure we capture, share it with me so we can make it happen.
5. Eat something before your session.
You will have so much more energy and genuine smiles when you are not hungry or thinking about your stomach.
This is your engagement session and it should feel completely like you. Bring the things that make you, you. A sign with an inside joke, a bottle of champagne to pop, your dog, your kids, whatever makes your heart happy. I want your photos to tell the story of who you actually are, not who you think you should be.
Think about the things that make you laugh together, the games you play, the hobbies you share, the people and pets that are part of your everyday life. All of it is welcome here. Your engagement session is not about being posed or picture perfect. It is about capturing the realness of your relationship so when you look back years from now you remember exactly what it felt like to be engaged and completely yourself.
